The summer truffle (Tuber aestivum) or burgundy truffle (Tuber uncinatum) is a species of truffle, found in almost all European countries.
The Burgundy truffle also known as the autumn truffle is harvested in France but also in Spain, Italy and in certain eastern countries such as Bulgaria. Its blackish skin, its flesh all covered with white veins, turns dark brown when ripe.
The tuber magnatum or precious white truffle season starts proper at the beginning of October. However in the weeks before, premature specimens will pop up here and there, an announcement of things to come. These are the fioroni truffles and while they often look just like their mature counterparts, they are a world apart.

Tuber magnatum,[1] the white truffle (Italian: tartufo bianco d'Alba), is a species of truffle in the order Pezizales and family Tuberaceae. It is found in southern Europe, the Balkans and Thailand.
“Tuber Magnatum Pico” or The White Truffle is one of most highly treasured truffles in the world. It has strong aroma and colour that varies from from pale cream to ocher. The most common locations, where can be found are: Italy, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania and Hungary.
